The Dominator Pro is Dan Mann’s performance spin on the everyday icon, the Dominator 2.0. Built for surfers who’ve levelled up and want to push harder without ditching the easy flow of the original, the Dominator Pro adds refined curves, increased rocker, and a tuned-up outline to unlock extra speed, control, and manoeuvrability in better surf.
With a slightly narrower nose and tail block, plus a moderate lift in rocker, this board gives you the confidence to go vertical while still holding the glidey DNA of the 2.0. Whether you’re lining up a beachie or a down-the-line runner, the Dominator Pro handles it with sharp rail work and a supercharged feel thanks to Helium construction.
The Firewire Dominator Pro has;
Moderate nose-to-tail rocker for improved pocket surfing and tighter turns
Single to double barrel concave for speed under the front foot and lift through the fins
V out the tail for smooth rail-to-rail transitions
Narrower nose and tail than the Dominator 2.0 for added performance
Helium Core Construction – lightweight, durable, with fast flex response
Fibreglass Lamination with composite skin and bio-resin for extra strength
5-fin setup – Mann recommends it as a Quad with the Mannkine “Mann Cave” fin set, but also fires as a Thruster
The Dominator Pro should be ridden true to your performance shortboard length, or 1–2 inches longer than your groveller. Best suited to surfers ready to trade a bit of ease for a lot more spark. A proper all-rounder for waist-high to well overhead surf.
If you love the Dominator Pro but are chasing more paddle power and everyday user-friendliness, check out the Firewire Mashup with DNA from the Seaside and Spitfire, the Mashup goes fast in weak waves, but also drives vertically in good waves – a true everyday hybrid.
